GMS 8th graders took on the zoo today! The new(ish) Elephant exhibit was beautiful and we all had to much fun!

Sixth grade teacher, Mrs. McKeever, created the "Warrior Pen Pal Club" this year. She partnered with Mrs. Tunison’s third grade class and they all became pen pals! They’ve been writing to each other all year and today some of them got to meet!!

Last week, some of our GMS students attended the High Aims Student Leadership Conference at Indian Hill Middle School.
They did a great job showing how Goshen Warriors are growth mindset focused, motivated and socially responsible.

If you ever doubt that our youth can change the world, just put a mission in the hands of passionate Goshen students. ❤️ For their final episode, the GMS 8th-grade Warrior Watch news team took on the Kindness Project.
Teachers Mrs. DeNu and Mrs. Mirus challenged these 11 students to look for ways to make a positive impact in our community, and the results blew us away. They didn't just report the news—they were the heart of it.
We would love to partner with community sponsors to bring this challenge back next year! Stay tuned for updates on how to get involved.

The GMS track team got to celebrate their amazing season during a track awards party. It was awesome to see the kids compete this year and reach personal records over and over again! Thank you to our track coaches, Ohnmeis, Whitley, Cheek, and Riechert for helping them achieve their goals!

Yesterday was a blast at GMS during the Staff vs. Students Volleyball Tournament!

Last week at Goshen Middle School, something truly special came to life on our walls and in our hearts. Our students and staff came together to create a collaborative mural that proudly reads “Spread Kindness The Warrior Way”
A special thank you goes to our incredible 6th grade Language Arts teacher, Amy Fine, who hand painted the beautiful lettering for the mural. Her talent and dedication helped bring Missy Mirus's vision to life in an amazing way!
Inside each letter of the word KINDNESS, students and staff members added their handprints as a symbol of unity, compassion, and the positive impact each person can make. Students were selected at random to participate, making this collaborative project even more meaningful to our school community.
At GMS, we believe that while academics are important, teaching our students to show empathy, compassion, and kindness is one of the greatest life lessons we can give them. We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for coming together to spread kindness the Warrior Way every single day. ❤️

For the twelfth year in a row Goshen Middle School had a phenomenal STEM Bicycle Club! (Sponsored by Mrs. Verschoor). Goshen is grateful to the @Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative and @Bishops Bicycles for their support!

For a culminating 8th grade project Ms. Verschoor’s Wood Shop class made a trebuchet!! 50 yards is the current maximum distance.

Our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students took the lead today, serving as the ultimate tour guides for our visiting 5th graders! From finding the best lockers to scouting out the "hotspots" around campus, our future middle schoolers got the inside scoop on where the magic happens.
📸 Highlights from the Day:
• The "Grand Tour": Navigating the hallways like pros.
• Expert Advice: NJHS members sharing their top secrets for middle school success.
• Future Ready: Seeing those fifth-grade smiles as they imagined life in the "big school."

We are so proud of Mrs. DeNu’s 8th-grade Content Creators class! 🎥
Our students recently partnered with non-profit, Goshen Community Cares, to create video ads highlighting the organization's incredible impact on our community.
These young creators handled everything from storytelling to editing.
While all 23 submissions were fantastic, Madison Geraci’s video was selected to be featured at the upcoming GCC Spring Event! Madison worked closely with the GCC team to finalize her project, gaining real-world experience while serving our neighbors. We are so impressed by the talent and heart shown by all of these young creators! 🌟

The GMS Leo Club (led by Missy Mirus and Sheli Dorazio) enjoyed serving at the Goshen Community Cares Spring Garden Party fundraiser event on Saturday evening. A special thank you goes Mrs. Kelly DeNu and her content creator student, Madison Geraci, for creating a video featured at this spectacular event. A fun time was had by all.

GMS April recap!

Students at GMS recently participated in a schoolwide service learning project. Students wrote encouraging and kind messages to help motivate Marr-Cook students on their upcoming MAP testing! We sure do love seeing these smiling faces! Thank you to teacher, Brooke Whitley, for leading the charge!

Students in Mrs. Velagic's classroom participated in the "Paper Roller Coaster" project in science to study kinetic and potential energy.

Sixth grade students recently completed their cell unit in science class. For their ending projects, students created games, infomercials, stop animation videos, children’s books, cakes, models and even a crocheted plant cell!
