🇺🇸Our 8th graders kicked off their Washington, D.C. trip today with an unforgettable first stop in Gettysburg! They spent the day exploring the historic battlefield, walking in the footsteps of history, and learning about a pivotal moment in our nation’s story. Stay tuned for tomorrow's update.
GMS students in Mr. Emerine’s two flight and space classes visited the National Museum of the Air Force last week! They got to walk-through Air Force One, sat in various cockpits and see the actual aircraft from World War I World War II the Cold War current era as well as Mercury and Apollo mission spacecraft.
Today, Mrs. DeNu’s Career Tech class welcomed Marlys, Tina, and 6 Circle Tail puppies for a crucial lesson in socialization. Turns out, helping train future service dogs by letting six puppies visit in a classroom is hard work, but someone had to do it! The students also gifted Circle Tail handcrafted bandanas and dog toys to support the organization, which provides highly trained service and facility dogs.
This visit was extra special for us because Circle Tail is the very reason we have our own beloved school facility dogs: Meg, Artis, and Rolyn!

Mr. Bohl’s FFA Club had a guest speaker today. Payton Harris is a recently graduated FFA member from Campbell County Kentucky. She shared her experiences with the students. We are trying to start an actual FFA Chapter at Goshen and this was a great experience. If you or anyone you know would be interested in speaking to our club about your experiences in agriculture we would love to have you!
📸 Picture day came around, and GMS facility dog, Meg, understood the assignment with her fancy bandanna. She posed, she smiled, and she officially secured her spot as "Chief Joy Officer" Meg works hard every single day keeping morale high, offering unconditional support, and expertly making her rounds to visit students- her absolute favorite part of the job. It’s a tough role, but someone’s got to do it!

On Friday, Mr. Whitaker and Mrs. Weinheimer's students played "Hunger Games Mafia." Playing as President Snow, students learned to observe body language and viewpoints, state their claims on who was Haymitch, and support their reasoning with evidence. It was a fun way for students to practice writing strong paragraphs through a memorable, hands-on activity!
Goshen Middle School students had a blast celebrating homecoming last week! The pep rally was full of energy, spirit, and house games that left the gym with so much electric energy! Here's a few pictures from the day!

GMS students in Mr. Whitaker and Mrs. Weinheimer's class debated the Capital side of having the Hunger Games versus the District side of not holding the games. The students got so involved with an official head judge. Everyone had so much fun!

Attention! We are looking for volunteers in the community to help tutor middle school students with basic math facts. The time commitment is 1 hour per week. Please see the flyer for details!

6th Grade Geologists: Students investigated limestone rock in the O’Bannon creek beds and learned that Goshen's early settlers used this exact rock to build some of the town's original structures (The Anchorage is still standing today!)
8th Grade Navigators: Students put GPS technology and satellite location to work during an exciting real-world geocache hunt.
It was a fantastic day filled with fresh air, practical tech, and rich local history!
