Happy Holidays from our GMS family to yours! 🎄

Earlier this week our GMS Leo Club hosted Mrs. Burns’s full day preschool class for a Whoville event. Each child had a special visit from the Grinch himself! Our kids enjoyed cookie decorating, making crafts, playing games and so much more! It was an exciting day for all and many memories were made.

From GMS coach, Mr. Downey: "So proud of our middle school Run Club! 🏃♀️🏃♂️ Over the past two months, these incredible kids ran more than 1,000 miles combined, showing up through sun, wind, rain, and even snow. They challenged themselves, pushed past their limits, and built habits that support healthy lifestyles and strong mental health. Watching them grow in confidence, resilience, and teamwork has been truly inspiring. Way to go, Run Club—you crushed it!" ❤️ 👏

Congratulations to GMS student, Hank Andrews for auditioning and being selected to be in the OMEA District 14 Honor Band! Way to go!

GMS 8th grade students wrapped up their Career Capstone projects at yesterday’s showcase! Students presented the careers they researched all quarter long. They researched challenges from that industry and diligently worked to research potential solutions.
To prepare for the future, students picked out high school classes that match their career interests and even put together a rough draft schedule for their freshman year.
To wrap up the Capstone Fair, students participated in a student-led conference with their parents. They eagerly discussed their projects and walked parents through their potential schedules for high school.
We are extremely proud of our students and their hard work! Thank you parents for coming to the showcase! If you weren’t able to stop by- please feel free to have your student complete their student-led conference at home!
Please enjoy these photos from the event, and click the link below to watch a short video summary of the day!

GMS 8th grade students have been working hard all quarter long preparing for their career capstone projects! Tomorrow is the big showcase where they will show it all off to classmates and parents!

GMS students have been busy! If you noticed the festive decor around school- it was due to the student council's thankful activities that each tribe participated in!
Also, students in Mrs. Websters class participated in a "fishbowl activity." Our ELA teachers are always coming up with something clever for their students!

GMS students in Ms. Baker’s 6th grade ELA class were a little confused when they walked into class yesterday… The chairs went on strike! Students had to write a letter to the chairs convincing them to come back to work as an introduction to argument writing. What a clever idea!

GMS 8th grade students in Mrs. DeNu's classes took a field trip down to the University of Cincinnati today for their education day! It was a great way for students to tour the campus to see a college so close to home. They visited career booths and even got to catch the UC Women's basketball game! Thank you to Mrs. Adkins for help chaperoning! Everyone had a blast!

GMS students in Mrs. Minks art class are learning how to sculpt clay, making for some awesome pottery creations!

The GMS National Junior Honor Society partnered with Goshen Heartland Church and hosted a Thanksgiving Food Drive. The goal was to adopt 70 local families and GMS far surpassed this goal! We were able to collect enough food items to feed 109 families. We are grateful for the support from teachers, students, and parents throughout this initiative.

Shout out to Mrs. Adkins and her NJHS members for organizing the annual Thanksgiving food drive. Each of these boxes contains everything a family needs for a complete Thanksgiving dinner. These boxes were donated to Heartland Church and will help feed the Goshen community. We would like to thank our school community for donating to the drive!
In addition to the drive, GMS also offers a “Little Food Pantry” located outside the front of the building. Mrs. Kelly’s tribe made sure that it was stocked this morning so if anyone needs a few items over break- they are available and ready to be utilized!

GMS students were enthralled this week by French instructor Madame Barr, who painted an exciting picture of what it's like to take high school French. With captivating stories and direct experiences shared by her current students, the value was clear. The ultimate incentive? Madame Barr and her students are heading to France this spring for a trip they'll never forget!

GMS students in Mrs. Wood's Health class work together and share a dazzling smile!

Over the weekend Goshen Middle School’s Leo Club had the opportunity to serve at the Holly Fair. They also had the honor of carrying the banner for the Goshen Chamber of Commerce’s Hometown Christmas parade. We are so proud of our Warriors!

Mr. Hines and Mrs. Kallmeyer's GMS classes enjoyed cooking and eating a Thanksgiving Feast. They also enjoyed a fun thanksgiving themed scavenger hunt/escape room!

Goshen Middle School would like to give a heartfelt thank you to everybody that came to our Cafeteria Open House Reception. We would like to especially thank our donors who helped make this project a reality. The donors are: Goshen Education Foundation, Josh Feinsilber - Gimkit, Buchner Insurance Group, Stiles and Sons, Tug Brock - Auto Works Towing, Inc., Wage War Apparel. We are also very proud of our Leo Club members for providing tours of the cafeteria to all who came. Thank you again for your continued support of GMS.

Forget formal introductions—today, community building meant total gym class fun! Huge thanks to our incredible first responders who stopped by Mr. Gregory and Mrs. Wood’s PE class. They traded their typical gear for dodgeballs to take on our students in a high-stakes game of "Dodgeball Prison Break."
We love seeing these critical connections made, proving that the best way to get to know your community heroes is by trying to throw a ball at them! What a blast! 🚔

Mrs. DeNu’s 8th grade Capstone students got a VIP preview of the high school life today, courtesy of GHS Information Technology teacher, Mr. Garrett Walt!
Mr. Walt brought his innovative teaching style over from GHS and didn't just talk about the high school I.T. Pathway- he plunged our students into an engaging, interactive problem-solving lesson on cybersecurity. It was the ultimate "try-before-you-buy" experience for discovering a potential college and career path!
Huge thanks to Mr. Walt for "pouring into" our students and showing them what it's like to tackle real-world challenges in his classes! The students loved the lesson and talking with him!

GMS students who are in the "Princeton" house won the first quarter reward field trip to the Cincinnati Cyclones game! Every quarter each tribe competes and earns house points for their GPA, attendance, letter cards, discipline, and misc activities. Here are just a few photos from the game!
