Last week's Goshen Band concert was a resounding success! GMS students showed off everything they've learned, and honestly, it was pretty clear they're noteworthy. (Pun intended.) 😉

Halloween 2025 festivities for GMS went all out! There were too many pictures to post so we had to make a video to highlight all of the incredible things that the students got to do on Friday!
Between the Monster Mash dance, Kona Ice, hayrides, trick or treating, park, and team activities- these kids had a blast! Click to see the video!

Mrs. Velagic's 6th grade Science class kicked off their rock, soil, and minerals unit and also found their perfect pet rock.

The GMS Leo Club kids had a great time celebrating at the Fall Festival Fun event with Mrs. Burns’s full day preschool class this morning! What an amazing mentorship by all of our Warriors!
Special shout out to Mrs. Mirus, Ms. Sonya, Ms. Bree, Mr. Jeff, and Mrs. Dorazio for all of their hard work transforming the school wing into a beautiful fall wonderland!

GMS Sources of Strength had their training on Monday! Peer leaders and Adult advisors participated in games and activities to help guide them in spreading messages of Hope, Health, and strength at GMS.

Congratulations to our Goshen Middle School cheerleading squad (7th & 8th grade) who took home 1st place in their cheer competition today! They also received first place for the spirit stick! Special congrats to Kyra Risner and Norah Barrial for scoring first place in the herkie and toe touch competition!
We would also like to congratulate the 6th grade squad for taking home 1st place as well! Special shout out to Abby Harris for winning first place in the herkie competition! You all represented GMS well and we can't wait to see what you bring to our school team next year!
Well, done, girls – but equally as important – well done coaches! 📣

GMS is rolling into a new quarter/new classes with some serious team challenges! 🎾 Mrs. DeNu's class kicked things off by designing a solution to transport their tennis ball safely across the room. No drops allowed! It's a testament to teamwork and communication at its finest when brains work better together.

DC Trip: Mission Accomplished. The GMS 8th Grade closed out their history tour by conquering Gettysburg (and presumably several gift shops). After four days of non-stop learning and memorial viewing, we are pleased to confirm they are heading home—and are officially qualified to sleep for 48 straight hours. Prepare for tales of battlefield bravery and the immediate collapse of one small suitcase. 😴 🏠 #GMSHomecoming #TheySurvived #GMSinDCc

Day 3 in DC: GMS students saw the White House (it was super secured because Zelenskyy was in town!) but the real headline of DC Day 3 is how fast these GMS students can drain a street vendor's supply of pink hats. At least they're easy to spot in a crowd! 😂 More pics to come later! #GMSinDC

Washington D.C. Day 2 was a major win for our GMS 8th graders! 🏛️ They explored the grandeur of the Capitol Building and Cathedral before heading to the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial. The highlight? Hearing a powerful, emotional survivor's account from a man who was there. Talk about a history lesson you can't get in a book! So proud of how our students showed respect and engagement. What a day! 🌟 #GMSinDC

GMS 8th Grade, Day 1: From the back seat of a bus to the battlefields of Gettysburg! After that long drive, they're already considering a strategic retreat... to the nearest snack machine. 🚌🇺🇸 We can't wait to follow along on their Washington DC adventures! #GMSinDC #GettysburgBound #HistoryRocks

It's been a great week at GMS! Please enjoy a variety of the happenings!

Attention Goshen Middle School (GMS) parents! Yearbooks are on sale and ready to be ordered! Please visit www.yearbookforever.com if you would like to get one for your student. Distribution will be in May.

Students in Mr. Bohl’s sixth grade science class have been working on their soil unit. As part of the unit, they created edible soil layers to represent the actual soil. The best part was eating the soil and worms when they were finished!

🎶 Swifties, snacks, and Singo—oh my!
Thanks to Mrs. Slagle and Ms. Carrie, the GMS library was turned into the ultimate Taylor Swift listening lounge. Students who participated in the recent library scavenger hunt got their shot at the party of the year when they were entered into a lottery drawing to attend the bash! Overall the party, students, and album were a hit! 💿✨

There’s nothing like the joy of simple moments. Riding in the gator with Coach Slagle is the highlight of 6th grade GMS student, Faize’s day! Coach even bought Faize the red hat to keep him safe from the sun!

Peer mentoring groups started at GMS today! Peer mentoring groups are designed to bring students together in a supportive environment, where positive relationships can grow. These groups create important, social bonds between children with special needs and their peers helping foster understanding, inclusion and friendship. The focus of peer mentoring is on developing a growth mindset, building, motivation, and strengthening social responsibility. Groups meet regularly during the week providing consistent opportunities for connection and growth. During each session, students participate in team-building activities, games and guided social interactions. These experiences not only encourage collaboration and problem-solving but also help students practice essential social skills in a fun, engaging way. Ultimately, peer mentoring groups promote acceptance, empathy, and a stronger school community.

GMS students in Mrs. Kallmeyer’s and Mr. Hines’ classes had a blast today experimenting with chemical reactions! With a little mixing and a lot of curiosity, they created some fun foaming explosions while learning about the science behind it all.

GMS Sources of Strength started their fall campaign with “Fall in a mug” Apple cider sales. Every Friday, until Halloween, during tribe students can purchase a glass of Apple cider for $1! SOS funds go directly to fun swag for students!
