The GMS Career Tech classes would like to thank, Chief Ed Myers, of the Goshen Township Fire Department for serving as our guest speaker today. With so many of our students aspiring to pursue careers in firefighting and emergency medical services, it was an incredible opportunity for them to engage in thoughtful discussions and ask their questions. Chief Myers shared his expertise with remarkable insight and professionalism, leaving a lasting impact on our students. Thank you, Chief Myers, for dedicating your time and knowledge to inspire the next generation!

Students in Mrs. Vogt’s and Mr. Bohl’s science classes completed an edible soil lab today. Students used various foods to create the soil horizons. They then answered questions and best of all ate their soil! Thanks to all who donated supplies for this lab!

Eighth-grade students in Mrs. DeNu’s Career Tech classes had the valuable opportunity to visit the University of Cincinnati today as part of their Education Day. Additionally, they enjoyed the excitement of watching the UC Women’s Basketball team secure a victory. This experience provided students with a firsthand look at a nearby college, offering valuable insights into the higher education options available within our community.

Goshen Local Schools extends its heartfelt gratitude to Channel 12 Meteorologist John Gumm for his generosity and kindness.
On Thanksgiving Day, John warmly welcomed 6th-grade student Chance Lebanz, Goshen Middle’s school weather reporter, and his family, for an unforgettable tour of his studio.
Opportunities like these not only create lasting memories but also inspire future aspirations, leaving a profound impact on our students’ journeys. We are deeply grateful for this special experience.

GMS students in Mrs. Clark's life skills class learned about grocery shopping and food safety while making homemade pizzas! 🍕

The GMS Career Tech and Content Creators classes extend their heartfelt gratitude to Thomas Hansford for serving as a guest speaker today. A proud Goshen graduate, Thomas is currently a photojournalist for the United States Air Force Office of Public Affairs.
Recently returning from a six-month deployment in Qatar, Thomas shared his experiences documenting a variety of flights and missions in the Middle East. His visit provided students with valuable insights into the military as a potential career path, as well as the creative aspects of content creation within a professional setting.
Thank you, Thomas, for inspiring our students with your dedication and expertise. We are incredibly proud of your achievements and grateful for your time spent giving back to the Goshen community!

The GMS library was transformed into a camp-out theme party! This celebration was to reward the select group of students who participated in the Fall podcast competition! Mrs. Slagle and Mrs. Carrie did an amazing job creating this event for our students!

Congratulations to all 3 of our facility dogs for passing their "Canine Good Citizens" exam yesterday at Circle Tail!
The CGC test is a certification program that evaluates a dog's manners and behavior in everyday situations. We are so proud of all 3 dogs!

On Friday, GMS students in the “Yale” house enjoyed a well-deserved reward field trip to the movies! At GMS, every “tribe” is part of a house, and each quarter, the houses compete to earn points toward an exciting reward. Points are based on GPA, attendance, positive behavior, GMS postcards, and school competitions.
Congratulations to the Yale house for taking home the first-quarter win! Who will earn the second-quarter reward? We can’t wait to find out! Keep up the great work, GMS!

Today, GMS students in Ms. Whitley's Coffee Club enjoyed a warm, cozy time together, decorating their drinks with toppings and having fun with friends. What a great way to kick off the day with creativity and connection!

GMS teacher, Missy Mirus, was able to purchase a new tetherball pole for her classroom due to the generosity of the Harold Tucker Memorial fund. Mrs. Mirus says. "To some I know this may sound crazy to have within a classroom setting, however, this will be used in a multitude of ways for our students. We have several students that struggle with social skills, turn taking, motor skills, sensory processing and handling emotions appropriately. By having this piece of equipment in our room, we will now be able to have another avenue to help meet those needs. Sometimes you have to be creative and think outside of the box when incorporating new ideas into a classroom setting. The positivity, bonds and friendships this will promote within our classroom will be priceless. I wish all of you could experience the smiles and laughter I have seen and heard today as our kids and staff members have been able to experience with our new tetherball pole. We are forever grateful for the Tucker family and the generosity of all who contributed to his memorial fund in his honor. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your
generosity and kindness. It means the world to myself and our kids. I couldn’t be more proud of be a Warrior! ❤️"

GMS students in Mr. Bohl’s science classes tried a new strategy today to learn about how a sedimentary rock is formed. Instead of just reading the text, the students had to cut into 19 random strips to put together correctly. They then had to apply correct capitalization and punctuation. The focus and discussion were awesome throughout the day!

GMS is proudly honoring Veterans Day with a special display—a wall filled with photos of veterans submitted by our students and staff. This tribute is a wonderful way for our school community to recognize and appreciate the sacrifices made by veterans. Thank you to all who have served!

Goshen Local Schools would like to extend a huge thank you to Randi Rico from WLWT Channel 5 for providing an unforgettable experience to our Warrior Watch news team and GMS weather reporter, Chance Lebanz. This studio tour gave our students a real, hands-on look at what goes into a career in broadcast media!
Chance even had the opportunity to step in front of the green screen and try out a weather report! The Warrior Watch team practiced reading from a teleprompter in the anchor chairs and got an up-close look at the production area where all the behind-the-scenes magic happens.
A special thank you to Mr. Dietrich and Mrs. Dorazio for accompanying our students on this amazing adventure and to Mrs. Mirus for organizing it all!
This kind of opportunity inspires our students and shows them the exciting paths they can pursue. 💙 #wlwt5 #warriorup
